Find Opportunities
That Make Financial Sense
Reduce costs. Recover revenue. Improve performance. Strengthen benefits.
For more than 30 years, I’ve worked with organizations in healthcare, managed care and employee benefits. That experience has shaped a practical view of business improvement: some of the best opportunities are the ones that produce measurable results without requiring an organization to disrupt what is already working.
Today, through ProfitMax, I work with a select group of specialized partners to help businesses and healthcare organizations identify opportunities to improve financial performance.
Beyond the Obvious.
Greater
Possibilities.
A Consultative Approach
I work differently from a traditional consulting firm or a company representing a broad catalog of products. My starting point is understanding what you are trying to accomplish and whether one of the resources I work with can genuinely help.
Many of the solutions I bring to clients are performance-based, with the provider’s fee tied to savings or recoveries that are actually realized. Others are structured so that there is no additional out-of-pocket program cost to your organization.
There is no cost to talk with me, and no cost to explore whether any of the companies or specialized resources I work with may offer a meaningful opportunity for your organization.
The initial conversation and evaluation are simply about determining whether there is enough potential value to warrant moving forward.
My role is to help identify whether there is a worthwhile opportunity and, when there is, bring the appropriate expertise to the table. If there isn’t a fit, that’s useful to know too.
Where Might There Be an Opportunity?
Healthcare Revenue Performance
For hospitals, physician groups and other medical organizations: opportunities to strengthen revenue-cycle performance, recover revenue that may otherwise be missed, and add specialized RCM capacity without undermining existing leadership, teams or technology.
Employer Savings & Employee Benefits
For employers: opportunities to reduce costs while providing additional healthcare services that can increase employee take-home pay — with no additional out-of-pocket program cost for the employer or participating employees.
Technology Cost Optimization
For businesses: opportunities to examine technology spend across communications, SaaS, artificial intelligence, infrastructure, security, hardware and logistics, and managed and professional services — with the objective of finding better value, not change for change’s sake.
Why I Believe in Performance-Based Solutions
My appreciation for performance-based solutions goes back to the early 1990s, when I was responsible for managed care for a federal health plan. I implemented a claims-review service to negotiate out-of-network hospital claims. Although those claims represented a relatively small portion of our overall hospital utilization, the program saved the plan millions of dollars annually while also reducing members’ out-of-pocket costs.
The vendor was compensated through a percentage of the savings it generated. It was a straightforward alignment of interests: measurable financial value for the plan and its members, with compensation tied to results.
That experience has stayed with me throughout my career and still influences how I evaluate opportunities today.

Identify the opportunity and potential value first. Then decide whether it makes sense to proceed.
01
Does it solve a real problem?
02
Can it create measurable value?
03
Can it complement what’s already working?
04
Does the financial model make sense for the client?
Advisors Are Welcome at the Table
ProfitMax works comfortably alongside benefits brokers, healthcare consultants, accountants, attorneys and other trusted business advisors.
The objective is not to displace relationships that are already serving you well. When you choose to involve an advisor in evaluating an opportunity, I’m happy to work collaboratively with them and the applicable solution provider.
Some Opportunities Have a Window.
Not every ProfitMax opportunity is an ongoing service. From time to time, I work with specialized resources on financial recovery opportunities where eligibility and timing matter.
Tariff Refund Recovery
A current, time-sensitive opportunity involving potential recovery of eligible IEEPA-related duties.
Class Action & Financial Recoveries
ProfitMax also works with Financial Recovery Strategies on qualifying settlement and recovery opportunities as they become available.
There May Be Other Opportunities Worth Exploring
Not every opportunity fits neatly into one category – and you may not know what to ask about until you know what’s possible.
Depending on your organization and circumstances, I may also be able to connect you with specialized resources addressing areas such as:
Specialized Tax Savings
Are there legitimate tax-saving opportunities your organization may qualify for but isn’t currently utilizing?
Accounts Payable Automation
Could you reduce the time, cost and manual work associated with accounts payable while improving visibility and control?
Cash Flow Optimization
Are there opportunities within your existing financial operations to improve working capital or make better use of cash?
Recoveries & Overpayments
Could there be money your organization has already paid – or is entitled to recover – that warrants a closer look?
I don’t believe in introducing a solution simply because it’s available. The first question is whether it is relevant to your business and worth your time to explore.
You don’t need to know which solution you’re looking for – or even whether there is an opportunity. Start with what you’re trying to accomplish.
You may simply be wondering whether you’re spending more than you should, leaving revenue on the table, overlooking a potential recovery, or missing an opportunity to improve profitability.
I’ll help determine whether one of the specialized resources I work with may be worth exploring.
